In March and June 2025, Norbert Meyn will lead two workshops with about 15 singers at the Mozarteum who are learning songs in English and German by Émigré composers from Nazi Europe who emigrated to Britain, including Hans Gál, Egon Wellesz, Eric Sanders and Joseph Horovitz. The collaboration will culminate in a masterclass and public lecture recital with the students in November.

On Thursday March 27 at 5pm (Faistauer Saal), Norbert will also present a lecture about Interdisciplinary Research in a Music College Context, sharing insights from the work of the

Music, Migration and Mobility project. The talk is free to attend and open to the public.

For further information please visit the University Mozarteum Website.

I recent years, the University Mozarteum and Salzburg University have been collaborating in the Research Initiative ‘Music and Migration’, which has resulted in several publications, including the recently published Routledge Handbook of Music and Migration. The Music, Migration and Mobility project was linked to this research initiative through co-investigator Nils Grosch, who was part of both teams. You can find out more about the research initiative and its publications here.
